10 Best CBD Oil Tinctures That Work!

Written by Green Shoppers
Updated on March 15, 2021

Did you know that, according to the Cannabis Trades Association (CTAUK), the number of CBD oil users in the UK nearly doubled last year? The number grew from 1250,000 users in 2016 to 250,000 users in 2017. As news about the supplement spreads, it seems that us Brits are desperate to get our hands on CBD oil.

Although CBD comes from a form of the Cannabis sativa plant, it is completely legal as long as it contains less than 0.2% THC. Since it is made from the hemp plant here in the UK, a plant which contains less than 0.3% THC by definition, UK CBD oil is safe and legal to take, and it won’t get you high.

There are plenty of companies selling CBD in Great Britain now, with an expanding range of products including oils, vape liquids, topicals, capsules, and even edibles. If you’re wanting to start using CBD as a part of your healthy lifestyle, you might find yourself overwhelmed about where to start looking.

No need to worry, though, because here is a list of the top 10 CBD oil brands here in the UK, based on quality, safety, effectiveness, and overall value for money. Let’s get started with our number 10!

Want to know who ranked number 1 for 2021? Scroll to the bottom of this article.

Best CBD Oil Bottles That Work

#10. PureKana

CBD oil PureKana

Okay, so this might be cheating a little bit; PureKana is actually an American-based company. They don’t even have a UK manufacturing facility! However, they do have a British office based in Watford, and they do ship internationally for a decent price (just make sure you’re careful about shipping CBD oils overseas – it may not make it through customs).

PureKana is an industry leader in the US CBD world, which is why it managed to sneak onto this list. You can ship it to the UK, as mentioned, but you should definitely check them out if you ever find yourself in the US of A.

Official website: https://purekana.com

PureKana CBD Oil UK Review

PureKana sells their CBD oils in three flavours: Vanilla, Natural, and Mint. It also comes in three strengths:

  • 300mg: $54
  • 600mg: $95
  • 1000mg: $139

Each bottle contains 30ml of liquid, which PureKana suggests equates to 40 servings. The bottle has a dropper for ease of use as a sublingual oil.

PureKana CBD oil is non-GMO, contains less than 0.3% THC (ensuring it is legal in the UK), and is free from solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilisers.

What About PureKana’s Other Products?

On top of their CBD oil, PureKana also sell CBD capsules, topicals, treatments for pets, and CBD gummies. But perhaps their most interesting product of all is their CBD Pure Picks – toothpicks infused with CBD that you can suck/chew on for up to 45 minutes.

Since edibles are growing in popularity, let’s talk about PureKana’s CBD gummies. Each gummy contains 25 mg of CBD, which is around what most people take each day – for people taking a lower dose, they can be cut in half. Each bottle has 20 gummies and costs $35. Ingredients include grape juice concentrate, organic corn syrup, and citric acid.

PureKana Pros

  • A very reputable, trustworthy brand.
  • Made using European certified organic hemp, with CO2 extraction used to derive full-spectrum CBD for their products.
  • The vanilla flavour of CBD oil is delicious.
  • Discounts are often offered.

PureKana Cons

  • As a US-based company, shipping is not that easy and/or cheap (although this is partly due to customs and is not wholly PureKana’s fault).
  • Relatively expensive compared to some other brands.

#9. Aura CBD

Aura CBD Oil

Based in California, Aura CBD is a reputable and respected brand. They have a strong UK presence, even possessing an office in London. Aura CBD is mostly renowned for creating vape oils infused with CBD and THC, but many of these are not legal in Great Britain due to the high presence of THC.

They still have some products available here, though, so let’s check them out.

Aura CBD Oil Review

There are several strengths available for Aura CBD oil, with the most popular option being their 5.2% strength bottle. The label recommends using it up to four times per day, taking two drops each time. There is 500 mg of CBD contained in the bottle, but it also contains terpenes, CBN, CBC, and CBG.

You can purchase Aura CBD’s 250 mg Starter Oil in a 10ml bottle for just £20. This is weaker, with just 2.5% CBD, but this is ideal for beginners. Alternatively, you can buy a four pack of the 500 mg CBD oil for £110.

What About Aura CBD’s Other Products?

Not only do Aura CBD sell CBD oils, but they have also found a big seller in their 16.5% CBD paste/99% CBD isolate combo. The package costs £102, but it is a great way to get a huge amount of CBD that will last you a long time.

Unfortunately, they do not produce edibles or some of the other popular CBD products.

Aura CBD Pros

  • Reputable brand with a presence in multiple countries.
  • The ‘combination’ of products is a nice touch that is not often seen in the industry.
  • Discount codes are often offered.

Aura CBD Cons

  • The website is not very well put together.
  • They don’t sell edibles; not a huge variety of products.
  • The strength of their CBD oils is quite weak.

#8. Holistic Hemp CBD

Holistic Hemp CBD Oil

Based out of Scotland, Holistic Hemp grows their hemp on small artisan farms throughout the European Union. Their hemp is only grown organically using a bio-dynamic process that avoids the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides.

When the crop is ready for harvest, the flowers are handpicked and hung up individually to dry at natural temperatures. Following this, the CBD is extracted using subcritical CO2 extraction, which takes longer than its supercritical counterpart but produces a good quality oil nonetheless.

This process is where Holistic Hemp differs from its industry rivals. Many companies use hemp that is bulk-harvested by cutting machines. Holistic Hemp really shows their dedication to healthy, organic products through this process. Their products contain terpenes, flavonoids, and a full spectrum of cannabinoids.

Holistic Hemp Review

Holistic Hemp’s CBD tincture contains 5% CBD + CBDA. Each 10ml bottle contains 500mg of cannabidiol, with an added dose of other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. All this comes for just £35, but you can save 5% by purchasing three bottles. Holistic Hemp recommends taking 10-20 drops up to three times per day.

What About Holistic Hemp’s Other Products?

As well as oil, Holistic Hemp sells CBD capsules, containing 15 mg of CBD each. These contain CBD only, with the bottle containing 30 capsules. This product will set you back £45.

Unusually, Holistic Hemp also offers a flavoured CBD-infused paste which tastes of turmeric. The paste is available in three strengths ranging from 15-26% CBD, and four sizes between 1 and 30 grams. The price varies depending on the size and strength of the tube, but for example, the 3g tube of 15% strength costs £25. The only downside to the paste is that measuring dosage is quite tricky with the syringe.

A Holistic Hemp dab wax is also available. This concentrate is available in strengths from 70% – 90%, with the two flavour options being Durban and Blueberry OG. If you’re a fan of dabbing, these products could be ideal for you.

Holistic Hemp are also planning on selling a luxury hemp tea for all the tea connoisseurs out there, so get ready for that new release.

Holistic Hemp Scotland Pros

  • Products are all extremely high-quality.
  • As well as being unique, the paste tastes fantastic.
  • The extraction process is safe and assures no chemicals are used.

Holistic Hemp Scotland Cons

  • As a relatively new company, there are not very many reviews; although, the ones that exist are mainly positive.
  • The paste makes it hard to measure CBD intake.

#7. Hemp Botanics

Hemp Botanics CBD

Hemp Botanics, based in London, claims to be the company selling the first fully legal weed in the UK. The founders have an aim to provide consumers with ethically sourced hemp that is 100% legal, containing a full spectrum of essential oil extracts and terpenes.

All products from Hemp Botanics are third-party tested, so you can rest assured that the label states what you’re really getting when you take their products.

Hemp Botanics Review

Strangely, Hemp Botanics doesn’t actually sell its own version of CBD oil. Instead, they sell a range of other, more unique products. The CBD oils they sell on their site come from a number of other brands, including Endo Water, Liquid CBD, and CBDistillery.

In place of CBD oils, Hemp Botanics sells “Hemp Flowers” – allegedly the first legal week in the United Kingdom. There are different strains, or flavours, available, including Sweet Leaf and Spring Haze.

Spring Haze, for example, contains 22% CBD, and can be purchased in 4 quantities:

  • 1 gram: £10
  • 4 grams: £35
  • 5 grams: £72
  • 28 grams: £220

At 220 mg of CBD per gram, you would be receiving over 6000 grams of cannabidiol for £220. This is a huge amount of CBD! It can be difficult to measure a portion, though.

The great thing about this product is its versatility. You can vaporise it, add it to smoothies, or even brew it in a tea. You can actually smoke it, too, which is where the claim of “legal weed” comes from. Impressively, it tastes good and offers a smooth smoke.

Hemp Botanics does offer a range of other, slightly less popular products, including CBD tinctures, disposable vape pens, CBD honey, and CBD isolate slabs.

Hemp Botanics Pros

  • A unique company in that it sells CBD in flower/strain form.
  • Products are of extremely high quality.
  • Amazing value for money.

Hemp Botanics Cons

  • The brand doesn’t sell their own CBD oil.
  • Since they sell other companies’ products, more research is required to check out the sources.

#6. Good Hemp

Good Hemp CBD Uk Oil

Get ready for something special, because Good Hemp is certainly a unique company. While most companies are focused on CBD oils and tinctures, Good Hemp sells a huge range of edible delights!

Good Hemp sells cooking products infused with wonderful CBD. Their aim behind this is to show how versatile hemp can be. Furthermore, if you’re stuck for ideas, Good Hemp offers a list of recipes on their website.

The reason why this is such a great idea is because the hemp plant is actually very healthy. Hemp seed oil contains 40% less saturated fat than olive oil, as well as being packed full of half of your daily Omega-3 intake recommendation. It also has 25 times more Omega-3 than olive oil!

Good Hemp Hemp Oil Review

Good Hemp’s pure hemp oil comes in two sizes: 250ml (for £4.49) and 500ml (for £5.99). Clearly, the larger option is much better value for money.

This oil is not consumed as a tincture. Instead, you use it as you would vegetable or olive oil and cook with it. Be aware, though, that 100 ml of this oil contains an enormous 900 calories and 9.4 g of saturated fat, so although it is healthy it still should be used sparingly.

Here’s the catch: Good Hemp sells hemp seed oil, not actually made from the cannabis plant. It might not actually contain any CBD, and if it does then the amounts are negligible. Hempseeds are still referred to as a ‘superfood’, containing plenty of vitamins and minerals, but they don’t contain cannabinoids. For a product this cheap, you wouldn’t expect it to contain them!

Their products still made the list, though, because Good Hemp are pioneers in spreading the good word about hemp through the United Kingdom.

What About Good Hemp’s Other Products?

With all their products made from hemp seeds, you will need to look elsewhere to find CBD products. That being said, hemp has plenty of other benefits to take advantage of, so Good Hemp’s products are still worth a look.

Good Hemp sell protein shakes and powder. The 2.5kg tub of raw protein will set you back £30, containing a whopping 50g of protein per 100 grams. This costs £30. You can also buy a bigger tub for £49.99, containing 75% protein with 22g per serving. These products are ideal for gym lovers, and are even vegan-friendly.

Hemp protein also contains amino acids and fibre, making these products extremely healthy.

Also, you should be taking note of the hemp recipes on their website. The menu contains something for everything, from meat and fish to vegetarian meals, desserts, starters, smoothies, and more.

Good Hemp Pros

  • Large selection of products.
  • Their products are widely available, even in some supermarkets.
  • Promo codes are often available.
  • All the products are professionally packaged.
  • When purchased through the website, delivery is quick and easy.

Good Hemp Cons

  • The products don’t actually contain CBD.
  • Not ideal if you don’t want to cook with your products.

#5. Love CBD

Love CBD

Operating out of Suffolk, Love CBD is a fairly small (but successful) family-owned business. This is a very reputable company; they formed in 2014, before CBD use really took off. The founders state that they decided to form the company as a result of CBD usage trends over in the USA, where it was already starting to become popular.

Nowadays, Love CBD is one of the most popular UK sellers of cannabidiol. You might have already heard of them, in fact! They offer quite a range of high-quality products.

Review of Love CBD Oil

Love CBD sells multiple types of CBD oil, but their Entourage Oil is probably the most popular. This variety comes in three strengths:

  • 800mg: £48.99
  • 1400mg: £79.99
  • 2000mg: £129.99

Each bottle contains 20ml of oil. So, with the 2000mg version, there is 16mg of CBD per spray (Love CBD oils come in a spray bottle rather than a dropper), but it also contains some CBDa. The reason they use sprays is that the bottles are less likely to leak.

Love CBD say that they have combined several legal cannabis strains grown throughout Europe to increase the efficiency of their oils. The oils contain limonene, myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, and alpha-pinene.

Aside from cannabis extracts, olive oil is the only other ingredient. In other words, there are absolutely no chemicals included.

It is recommended that you spray Love CBD Entourage Oil under the tongue up to four times per day, preferably with food. Many reviews say that there is no sickly aftertaste.

What About Love CBD’s Other Products?

A 60-count bottle of CBD capsules is also available containing 10 mg of CBD per capsule. This product costs £34.99.

Love CBD also sells a CBD-infused balm in a 10g tub for £13.99, but you can also get your hands on a 30g tub for £29.99. The CBD used in these products comes from a cannabis strain grown in Croatia and Slovenia, blended with shea butter, rosemary, rapeseed oil, and coconut oil.

Finally, Love CBD sells e-liquids infused with CBD, in either indica or sativa form. A 10ml cartridge costs £29.99, containing 250 mg of CBD. If you’re looking for something uplifting and energising, grab the sativa variety; the indica bottle will give you some more sedative, relaxing effects.

Love CBD Pros

  • Their CBD oil is full-spectrum and made from high-quality hemp.
  • Love CBD are a reputable, trustworthy company with outstanding reviews.
  • Coupons are available offering up to 80% off.

Love CBD Cons

  • They don’t sell edibles.
  • It is difficult to unsubscribe from the website.

#4. CBD Life UK

CBD Life UK

As a member of the Cannabis Trades Association UK, you know that CBD Life is a brand you can trust. Their mission statement is to “make the world a better place” through the CBD industry, and they certainly aim to lead by example. CBD Life UK ensures that you will get high-quality CBD products every time you buy.

CBD Life CBD Oil Review

You can get your hands on CBD Life’s CBD oil in two forms: A standard hemp oil spray or liquid “aqua drops.”

The spray form contains 400 mg of CBD and CBDa for £24.95, in a 10ml bottle of liquid. This equates to around 80 sprays, with each spray containing 5 mg of CBD. You are supposed to spray the oil beneath the tongue, allowing for fast and effective sublingual absorption. CBD Life recommends taking 20 mg of CBD per day spread out over 2-3 doses over the course of the day.

The firm infuses their MCT oil with a full hemp extract removed from the plant matter via CO2 extraction. The oil is safe to consume and contains Vitamin E. Additional ingredients include curcumin, vegetable glycerine, triglycerides, limonene, and sodium bicarbonate.

Ideally, the oil should be taken up to 30 minutes after eating.

What About CBD Life’s Other Products?

CBD Life actually has one of the largest product ranges on this list. They sell edibles, capsules, pastes, dabs, vapes, topicals, and e-liquids for vaping.

CBD gummy rings from CBD Life, for example, contain 25 mg of high-grade CBD. A five-pack of gummies costs £9.95. Three packs costs £28.45, and five packs cost £44.95, meaning you can save a little money by buying in bulk.

The gummy rings are delicious, which each ring containing vitamins, minerals, and Omega-3 fatty acids. These perhaps aren’t the best for those on a diet, though, because they contain sugar along with coconut oil, natural colouring, flavouring, citric acid, and gelatin.

CBD Life Pros

  • Fantastic range of products.
  • Impressive number of vitamins, minerals and cannabinoids.

CBD Life Cons

  • There are not many customer reviews online.
  • In some products, there is a lot of additional ingredients; not all organic.

#3. Love Hemp

Love Hemp CBD

According to their website, Love Hemp is the “finest purveyor of CBD oils in the UK.” This is demonstrated in their slogan: “Just Hemp and Love.”

Founded in 2015, Love Hemp is based in London. Their goal is to provide consumers in the UK, Europe and the United States with premium-quality, full spectrum cannabis extracts. They are a pretty reputable company, and already quite popular among UK customers.

Love Hemp CBD Oil Review

Love Hemp’s CBD Oil comes in four different strengths:

  • 800mg (8%): £49.99
  • 2000mg (20%): £129.99
  • 4000mg (40%): £269.99
  • 10,000mg (10%): £399.99

The oil is made using CBD extracted via supercritical CO2 extraction which uses medical grade carbon dioxide. This means that you can rest assured that there were no chemicals used in the process.

The 40 mg offering from Love Hemp is one of the strongest CBD oils available in the UK. In fact, it’s quite impressive that they managed to craft a 40% CBD oil that doesn’t contain any illegal amounts of THC.

Three of the options (the first three) come in a 10ml bottle, but the 10,000 mg option comes in a 100 ml bottle. Consuming just 1ml of the 40% oil means you are consuming 400mg of CBD. This, of course, isn’t cheap.

What About Love Hemp’s Other Products?

Love Hemp sells gummy bears, CBD capsules, 99% crystal isolate, liquid terpenes, e-liquids, and even clothing made from hemp.

But their most unique product? Love Hemp sells CBD water! Each 500ml bottle contains 2 mg of CBD and costs £1.99. It tastes just like mineral water, and is a quick, easy way to get some CBD into your diet.

Love Hemp Pros

  • All products are of premium quality.
  • Impressive range of products.
  • Reputable company.

Love Hemp Cons

  • There is an odd lack of reviews.
  • The products are relatively expensive.

#2. Hempura CBD

Yet again, Hempura CBD is a member of the Cannabis Trades Association. This means that Hempura is a brand you can trust.

According to their website, Hempura’s CBD oils are rich in active cannabinoids, and can help you improve your health and lifestyle.

Hempura CBD Oil Review

There are three strengths of Hempura’s CBD oils:

  • 250 mg (2.5%): £24.99

Each bottle contains 10ml of liquid, equating to a total of 200 drops. There is a maximum of 0.05% THC in each bottle, but the strongest version contains 5 mg of CBD per drop. The oils contain a full spectrum range of cannabinoids, allowing the entourage effect to take place.

In the extraction process, Hempura uses an ultra-filtration technique to ensure that only the most active cannabinoids are harvested. Basically, you really get the best of the best. Don’t worry, though, because no chemicals are used in the process, so everything is natural and healthy.

Before use, make sure you shake the bottle. As per usual with sublingual oils, hold the drops beneath your tongue for 90 seconds before swallowing.

What About Hempura CBD’s Other Products?

As well as CBD oils, Hempura also sells e-liquids, capsules, and even chocolates. If you’re a vaper, you might enjoy the e-liquid, which comes in 2.5% and 5% strengths. This contains broad-spectrum cannabinoids, including CBDV and CBC in addiction to CBD.

The CBD capsules contain 10 mg of CBD each, coming in a bottle of 30 pills for £24.99.

Hempura Cons

  • Lack of information about the company on the website.
