Dope Minerals: Complete CBD Brand Review

With so many CBD brands around, new companies have to find their own niche in the market. This is easier said than done! There are already tonnes of unique products out there, including CBD massage oils, CBD bath salts, and various other exciting concoctions.

Every once in a while, a brand comes along and fills a gap. They pitch a product you never knew you needed, and it just works. For us, Dope Minerals is one of these brands. It’s a unique concept we probably wouldn’t have thought of, but one that we love. The brand sells CBD creams, but with a twist – they’re also infused with magnesium.

Let’s find out why this combination has become a big hit.

Who Is Dope Minerals?

Dope Minerals is a women-led brand founded by Gina and Natalie. These two boss babes founded the company on the premise that natural elements can support the human body in positive ways.

In 2014, Gina was pregnant with her second child. She wanted to find a way to support her family financially while staying at home with her new baby. On top of these anxieties, her pregnancy was causing a myriad of unpleasant side effects such as fatigue, restless legs, migraines, and more. A doctor recommended that she try out topical magnesium.

Gina was skeptical because she had tried magnesium supplements before with no results. However, the topical version worked wonders, and she found that pain and anxiety diminished after one use. Eager to spread the word, she started a company called Kiss My Bath, sharing the wonder of topical magnesium.

Later, her friend Natalie became her business partner. The two ladies decided to expand their product line by adding a new ingredient: CBD. The brand now stocks CBD + magnesium creams in several different scents.

One thing we love about this brand is the real passion behind it. Plus, the ‘About Us’ page explains a lot about how the brand was formed and why – this is something we like to see. On top of that, there are a few facts about each of the women running the brand, which is a lovely, personal touch.

All the relevant information is on the website. The hemp used to create the products is grown in the US, and CO2 extraction is used to obtain the CBD. Apparently, lab tests are conducted, but they are not shown on the website.

Currently, Dope Minerals only ships within the US. Although unfortunate, this isn’t the end of the world, and we completely understand why this is the case. After all, international laws are a little murky when it comes to CBD.

Dope Minerals CBD Products

Dope Minerals sells a few different CBD and magnesium products, all of which are topicals. Annoyingly, some are listed under the ‘skincare’ tab, while the rest are under the ‘shop’ tab. It would be nice to see them all in one place.

The flagship product is the Magnesium Cream. Made with mango butter, shea butter, coconut oil, and magnesium, the cream is intended to help with things like pain and inflammation. The cream contains 200mg of CBD per jar as well as the magnesium. Each tub is either 4oz or 9oz, and you can purchase it in a variety of scents, including Unscented, Lavender, Peppermint and Vanilla. A 4-ounce container costs $26.99, while a 9-ounce tub costs $41.99.

There is also a Magnesium + Full Spectrum Hemp Face and Body Oil. Resembling a tincture, this oil is made with hemp seed oil, frankincense, carrot seed, geranium oil, CBD extract, and magnesium chloride. It comes in a 1oz dropper bottle and can be applied to both the face and body. Dope Minerals carefully selected the ingredients for specific purposes; for example, frankincense is said to fight the signs of aging, while geranium oil regulates sebum production in the skin. This product retails for $29.99.

Similarly, there is a Face & Body Oil that contains magnesium and no CBD. This has a cheaper price point at just $14.99. The Magnesium Face & Body Oil is the product used to create Dope Minerals’ final option, the Magnesium Facial Scrub.

The exfoliating scrub uses organic sugar, hemp seed oil, rose petals, lavender, ylang-ylang, and magnesium. Although there is no CBD, this is still an excellent product. The sugar and crushed rose petals gently exfoliate without damaging the skin. You can purchase a 4-ounce tub for $25.99 or an 8-ounce container for $39.99.

Dope Minerals Pros

  • A unique brand selling products we haven’t seen before. Magnesium is a nice addition to run of the mill CBD products.
  • There is plenty of information on the site about the brand and the products.
  • The products are not too expensive.
  • Free samples are available on the website to try out – you only pay for shipping.
  • All products are vegan-friendly and are never tested on animals.

Dope Minerals Cons

  • Dope Minerals only sells topicals, which is a bit useless if you find that another consumption method works better for you.
  • A reasonably limited product selection, even in the topical niche.
  • Lab reports are missing, and information about CBD content is not clear.

Our Final Verdict on Dope Minerals

Dope Minerals is a great brand. It’s led by women and has occupied a niche part of the CBD market – we have never seen CBD combined with magnesium before! This is a bright idea given magnesium’s purported health benefits, so we support Dope Minerals’ endeavour to bring something extra to the CBD industry.

Although the product selection is relatively limited, it’s pretty good if you like topicals and skincare. We just wish Dope Minerals would post more information about the cannabinoid content of its products, as well as providing lab reports. With these minor adjustments, this could be a significant brand.

It’s quite unfortunate that the magnesium and CBD skincare trend hasn’t yet crossed the pond, as Dope Minerals doesn’t ship to the UK. Hopefully, a brand on this side of the Atlantic will propose a similar idea soon. For now, there are plenty of other topical CBD products available in Britain – just none quite this exciting!
