According to the official site, Green Monkey is “The UK’s first carbonated drink infused with CBD.” It is immediately clear that this is a big brand from the moment you entire the website, with its professional design and top-range branding on all the products. A sea of green runs throughout the site, and the whole thing is very easy to navigate.
Green Monkey has an FAQ section that explains a little bit about CBD. Here, it is subtly advised that CBD newbies try out an oil first so that they can figure out their perfect dose. There is also a section titled “Pharmacy Backed”, where we expected to find third-party lab reports for the products. However, there is nothing more than a title, and a tagline stating that these drinks are an alternative to caffeine-based drinks. That’s all.
Unfortunately, there is no ‘About’ page on the actual website. To know anything about the company at all, you’ll have to visit their Facebook page; maybe this says a little bit about their desired audience.
Green Monkey is an energy drink infused with 10 mg of CBD per 250ml can. Their Facebook boasts that the product is backed by the Jhoots Pharmacy chain and AV Pharma, which is probably what they meant by the unexplained “Pharmacy Backed” on the website.
The drink is tropical fruit flavoured, with hints of pineapple and grape. It is best when served cold, providing a refreshing and tasty beverage.

The marketing for this brand is definitely clever; the “Relax, it’s not bull” printed on the can definitely made us chuckle! Moreover, the brand’s social media presence is reassuring, and it speaks a lot about the CBD market catering to a younger audience.
For now, Green Monkey is a fairly new product, so we will have to wait and see just how much it takes off.
