Koi CBD is a popular CBD brand that’s active on social media and knows how to make its presence known. This is a tried and trusted brand that knows the importance of a good marketing program.
Here at Greenshoppers, we like to be extensive as possible and cover all the best CBD brands, so it’s about time we talk about Koi CBD products in today’s comprehensive review. Let’s check them out.
Established in 2015, Koi CBD aims to change the game in the cannabidiol market. Many companies are not transparent, and sell expensive CBD products that are not really high-quality or accurate to what they say on the label – lack of standardisation allows them to get away with it.
Koi CBD wants to change this. The brand uses 99% pure CBD isolate in all its products, manufactured in a cGMP certified facility. Sometimes, additional cannabinoids are added back in. Made using industrial hemp, the products are legal in all 50 states and are guaranteed to contain 0% THC. How can you know this is true? Every single batch of CBD from Koi is tested and can be traced back, and the lab reports are published on the website for all to see.
Another thing we love is that this company ships to the UK. This is pretty rare for American companies due to differences in the law, but the use of purified CBD in all products means that Koi CBD can legally ship its products to Great Britain with no worries. The brand ships to many EU countries, but the base for EU orders is located in the United Kingdom.
We like the Koi website, too. It’s straight and to the point, and it gives you all the information you need to know in a user-friendly format. We’ve seen some pretty atrocious CBD websites, so Koi CBD is a breath of fresh air.
Koi CBD sells a decent range of products, packaged in the brand’s signature design featuring a koi carp. Lab reports are available for each product on the site, so be sure to check them out if you are concerned.
The Koi Naturals tinctures are designed to be used orally, but the website also shows them being added to food. The oils are made using Koi PRIZM, which is a blend of CBD isolate featuring thirteen added terpenes. The oils are full-spectrum, although they are guaranteed to be free of THC; they do, however, feature CBG and CBDV.
The oils come in a variety of strengths and in the following flavours: Natural, Peppermint, Strawberry, Spearmint, Lemon-Lime, and Orange. The flavourings are made using only natural ingredients and no artificial flavours. Each bottle contains 30ml of oil.
You can also purchase variety packs, allowing you to mix-and-match with 4 bottles of different flavours. Depending on the strength, these vary from $127.97 to $319.97. Doing this allows you to save some cash, too.
Also full-spectrum, Koi CBD takes time and effort to ensure that the CBD is evenly distributed throughout these delicious gummies. They are made using the same Koi PRIZM as the oils, meaning you get CBD, cannabinoids, and terpenes, with no THC.
Unfortunately, Koi CBD doesn’t list the other ingredients on the website. We would like to see the ingredients in order to see whether artificial flavours or colours were used, and it would be nice to know if they were vegan or not.
The gummies each contain 10mg of CBD. You can buy them in either regular or sour varieties; both contain lime, tangerine, and acai pomegranate flavours. There are different bag sizes depending on your preference:
Vaping CBD is enormously popular, so it’s not surprising that Koi CBD has gotten involved with the trend. The e-liquids come in 30ml bottles with a dropper attached, to add to your own vape cartridge. You can also mix it into another e-liquid to tailor your vaping experience.
Made using Koi’s CBD isolate, this product is one of the few that is not full-spectrum. The product description says that you can also use these products as a tincture and drop it under the tongue, but we really recommend avoiding this as the ingredients list includes propylene glycol (PG). This thinning agent is known to be quite dangerous, so it’s a sad fact that it is used in many e-liquids. Some companies have moved away from using PG, so it’s unfortunate that Koi still adds it to their product.
Each 30ml bottle contains both natural and artificial flavours. The options are Blue (Blue Raspberry Dragonfruit), White (flavourless), Jade (Watermelon Green Apple), Gold (Vanilla Caramel Custard), Red (Strawberry Milkshake), Pink (Pink Lemonade), and Tropical Popsicle. As with the tinctures, you can also buy a variety pack that will save you some cash.
Koi CBD offers two topical products. The first is the CBD Healing Balm, which contains Koi CBD’s True Spectrum oil. This means it is THC-free but still rich in phytocannabinoids. The ingredients include grapeseed oil, beeswax, coconut oil, various essential oils, and aloe vera. This combination is intended to relieve and moisturise the skin.
The 6.3oz tub contains 500mg of CBD. Be aware that you cannot apply it to the face – this is a body balm only. We’re not sure why this is stated on the site, but considering that the brand advises against it, we suggest following their advice.
Alternatively, there is Lavender Koi. As you can guess, this product features lavender essential oils and smells of the lavender plant. Also THC-free, the 4.25 oz bottle features 200mg of CBD, alongside white willow bark, xanthan gum, jojoba oil, and more. There is also alcohol extract in it. These ingredients are definitely cooling, which will help to relieve aches and pains by cooling the area down.
Want to give CBD to your dog? Koi CBD can give you what you need in the form of a spray or pet treats.
Usually, brands market CBD isolates for animals, as pet owners are very cautious about administering various compounds to their pooch. However, Koi CBD has elected to choose a full-spectrum product in the form of the Koi PRIZM extract. Of course, this does mean that no THC is included in the product.
In the product description for the spray, there is a handy dosage guide showing you how much CBD to give to your pet depending on its size. This is important, because owners are responsible for keeping their pets safe.
The spray is suspended in coconut oil. It can be added to food or sprayed directly into an animal’s mouth. The 60ml bottle contains 500mg of CBD.
The Soft Chews are a delicious way for your pet to take CBD. With 25 chews per bag, each chew contains 2mg of CBD, allowing for easy dosage. It doesn’t say what flavour the chews are on the site, but the ingredients are listed and include beef liver powder; dogs are sure to enjoy them.
A portion of the proceeds of these products goes to a dog charity.
Koi CBD became popular quite quickly. It’s hard to deny that this is a very good brand, and there are few flaws with it. We like the website and product design, and the fact that they ship to the UK is a massive bonus in our book.
However, there are a few things that could be clearer. For example, can Koi CBD really claim they use 99% pure CBD and also claim that the products are full-spectrum? It doesn’t really make sense, and it looks like they just wanted to add a few buzzwords to the site. As far as we can tell, Koi CBD means to say that the CBD is made into an isolate to remove all THC, before having terpenes and other cannabinoids added back in. We wish this was made clearer on the site.
Koi CBD has a good range of products that aren’t too badly priced. Plus, the option to bulk buy in variety packs is a good addition. All in all, we have to say that Koi CBD is a good CBD brand.
