O’Shaughnessy Drinks: What Are They All About?

CBD is a lucrative industry now, with hundreds of brands competing for a top spot. It can be difficult to make a name for yourself in this hyper-competitive world.

O’Shaughnessy Drinks, however, has found a smart entry point – CBD beverages. This brand sells unique, one-of-a-kind CBD drinks that you can’t buy anywhere else. If you want to drink your CBD – and actually enjoy it – then this is absolutely a brand to check out.

O’Shaughnessy Drinks actually get their name from William O’Shaughnessy, who published a highly influential paper on Indian Hemp back in 1839. His article was so influential, in fact, that some say it galvanised Queen Victoria to use hemp as part of her diet.

The brand’s founders wanted to continue the tradition of including hemp in a healthy diet. The brand currently offers two drinks infused with CBD, and both of them feature a wide array of natural ingredients and premium quality flavours.

Furthermore, O’Shaughnessy Drinks Co is part of the Cannabis Trades Association (CTA). This is excellent because it shows that the brand is legitimate and creates quality products. O’Shaughnessy sources its CBD from an EU-approved strain of hemp that contains less than 0.2% THC, as per UK guidelines.

A General Roundup of O’Shaughnessy Products

If you’re on the lookout for CBD products like tinctures, then you’re in the wrong place. O’Shaughnessy specialises in CBD beverages, and currently only stocks two flavours of CBD drink. Both are full-spectrum and designed to deliver vitamins as well as cannabinoids.

Technically, the drinks are syrups. You dilute them using water for a delicious, refreshing CBD beverage.

Turmeric, Lychee, and Citrus Infused with Soluble Full-Spectrum CBD Extract

Turmeric, Lychee, and Citrus Infused with Soluble Full-Spectrum CBD Extract

The first of the CBD-infused drinks is the orange one, which contains turmeric, lychee, and citrus. The orange colour predictably comes from the turmeric, although it also hints at the waves of citrus that are to come.

This flavour is zesty and energising. It’s also quite refreshing, but it can be too strong if you don’t add enough water.

Of course, the main draw is the CBD extract. The 500ml bottle contains 90mg (or more) CBD. It’s also infused with vitamins B3, B6, B7, and B12. O’Shaughnessy suggests that each bottle contains 18 servings of 250ml – remember, you should be adding water, which is why the serving sizes are so large. Each serving contains approximately 5mg of CBD.

This isn’t a lot of CBD. However, it can be a useful way to add just a little cannabidiol into your diet.

By the way, the drink is entirely vegan-friendly, meaning anybody can use it no matter their dietary preferences.

Hibiscus, Raspberry, Rooibos, and Vanilla Infused with Soluble Full-Spectrum CBD Extract

The other CBD-infused drink is a red-coloured liquid flavoured with hibiscus, raspberry, rooibos, and vanilla. This beverage is a sweeter option, and the vanilla notes make it a really light and summery drink.

Just like the turmeric and citrus option, the hibiscus and raspberry drink contains 90mg of CBD hemp oil, working out at about 5mg of CBD per serving.

The stats are pretty much the same as the first drink, with the same vitamins, cannabinoids, and ingredients. It’s only really the flavours that are different.

Both drinks cost £25.99 each, which is pretty expensive. O’Shaughnessy notes that it works out to 99p per 250ml serving. You can also buy a multipack of both flavours for £51.98.

O’Shaughnessy Drinks Pros and Cons

O’Shaughnessy pros include the fact that the products are a refreshing breath of fresh air to the market. Personally, we’ve never seen anything like them before. We also love the fact that O’Shaughnessy is taking a stand for the environment, and that the ingredients used seem to be of the absolute highest order.

As far as O’Shaughnessy cons, there aren’t many. One minor qualm is that it wasn’t easy to access the verified laboratory reports for the range of products. In today’s convoluted market, this is important for developing customer trust. O’Shaughnessy’s prices are also relatively high, but this is to be expected with nearly any CBD products made from authentic high-grade hemp extract.

Bottom Line on O’Shaughnessy Drinks: 7/10

O’Shaughnessy drinks have brought something different to the CBD market, and that’s something we love to see. It’s always lovely to see that the cannabidiol industry is ever-evolving.

However, the fact that the brand only sells CBD beverages means it’s off-limits for many CBD users. The drinks are also pretty weak in CBD, which again limits the customer base.

Although O’Shaughnessy claims that there are lab reports, we couldn’t find any. This is slightly off-putting. The drinks are certainly tasty, though, and we think they make ideal summertime refreshments.
