PlusCBD: Full Review
Choosing the right CBD brand for you is a crucial part of your CBD experience. Every brand has different values and products, so it’s a matter of locating a brand that aligns with your personality. There are many brands out there nowadays, and many ways to find them. You can check out our list of the best CBD brands if you’re lost about where to start.
Third-party review sites, like Greenshoppers, are some of the best places to find out more about brands. We tell you everything you need to know in one place, saving you the trouble of trawling through several websites.
Today, we are reviewing PlusCBD. This brand recently upgraded its website and product range, so let’s find out more.
Who Is PlusCBD?
PlusCBD has been around since 2012. It’s run by CV Sciences, a company commited to research. As a result, PlusCBD’s products have been meticulously researched and developed to be the best on the market.
The ‘About’ section on the PlusCBD website isn’t very detailed, but it’s enough to show you that this is a reputable company. There’s pictures of all the team members, allowing you to put some faces to this brand.
The website also explains that PlusCBD uses a seed to shelf tracking process. In other words, PlusCBD follows the full process, ensuring quality at every step.
The PlusCBD website feels fresh and exciting, different from the approach that many other CBD brands take. It’s a fun brand with a cool ethos. So far, so good; but what are the products like?
PlusCBD Products
PlusCBD has a decent range of products, so let’s check out what this brand has on offer. Some of the products are discontinued, so make sure you read each section carefully.
PlusCBD Spray & Drops
Unlike other brands, PlusCBD offers both sprays and drops. The drops come in the same varieties as the soft gels: Total Plant Complex, Gold Formula, and Raw Formula. Since not many brands stock raw CBD oil, we decided to try the raw formula.
Each bottle contains 500mg of CBD and CBDa, in a handy dropper bottle for ease of use. It costs $67.95, which is pretty expensive, but the drops were quite effective. After trying, I felt energized and ready to tackle the day. By the way, the Raw Formula drops come in a refreshing Peppermint flavour.
The other drops are more reasonably priced:
- CBD Oil Drops Gold Formula: from $31.99 for 250mg
- CBD Oil Drops Total Plant Complex: from $29.99 for 300mg
The Gold Formula drops come in three flavours, including Peppermint and Goji Berry. The Total Plant Complex options, however, only come in an unsweetened variety.
The PlusCBD spray only comes in one variety – a full-spectrum option in two strengths. You can purchase it in Unflavoured, Peppermint, and Café Mocha flavours, in 100mg and 500mg strengths. The spray bottle is handy for on-the-go use and easy dosing. Pricing starts at $19.99.
PlusCBD Capsules & Softgels
PlusCBD recently discontinued its CBD capsules in favour of a CBD oil in the same strength. The product is still listed on the website, but its matching CBD oil is linked.
Instead, PlusCBD now sells soft gels for those who don’t enjoy the taste of CBD. Something we love about the PlusCBD soft gels is that they’re vegetarian. Many soft gels contain bovine gelatine, but PlusCBD has opted for a vegetarian casing so that everyone can use these capsules.
PlusCBD has several options on offer, including Total Plant Complex, Raw Formula, and Gold Formula. The total plant complex capsules contain 10mg each, with a full-spectrum hemp extract. The Gold Formula soft gels, meanwhile, contain 15mg each. Finally, the raw formula contains 5mg of CBD per capsule, but also CBDa.
The prices are super reasonable:
- CBD Soft Gels Raw Formula: from $11.99
- CBD Soft Gels Gold Formula: from $15.99
- CBD Soft Gels Total Plant Complex: from $13.99
PlusCBD Topicals
Other topicals from PlusCBD include CBD lotion and CBD cream, both new additions to the site. These are better options than the balms if you want something more luxurious. They are super moisturising and come in more pleasant scents, including grapefruit and lavender.
The lotion contains 200mg of CBD, whereas the cream contains 150mg. These are both good options for including CBD into your daily skincare routine. The cream costs just $24.99, whereas the lotion costs $29.99.
PlusCBD Balm
PlusCBD has several balms available, including a standard hemp balm. This product is also available in Extra Strength Gold. All in all, it’s a pretty standard CBD balm, with added vitamin E and terpenes. It’s a moisturising balm that’s quite effective, but it’s nothing special.
The Gold Formula balm also comes in a travel-sized version. Interestingly, there is also an option to buy a travel-sized Raw Formula version, but this one isn’t available in full size. The travel balms are really inexpensive, perfect for trying out before you buy a whole tub.
Recently, PlusCBD also added a CBD Hemp Stick to its range. This product has a botanical scent and provides a cool sensation. There is 150mg of CBD in the stick, and application is easy; you just smear the stick on the desired area. PlusCBD recommends using this stick for post-exercise recovery. One stick costs $22.99.
PlusCBD Skin Serums
PlusCBD now also sells a skin serum, which it describes as a ‘nourishing botanical blend’. This product includes PlusCBD’s Gold Formula, along with jojoba, sea buckthorn, coconut, turmeric, bergamot, and more. It’s designed to moisturise and care for your skin.
PlusCBD doesn’t test on animals, so this product is cruelty-free. It costs $19.99 for a 50mg bottle, with a pump dispenser for ease of use. After using this, my skin felt rejuvenated and glowing. For under $20, that’s pretty good.
PlusCBD Gummies
If you’re after edibles, PlusCBD sells gummies. Once again, this product contains PlusCBD’s Gold Formula, with 5mg of CBD per gummy. You can buy them in tubs of 10, 30, and 60, allowing you to purchase the best product for you.
There are two flavours, including Cherry Mango and Citrus Punch. All of these options mean that you can tailor your CBD experience to suit you.
The capsules start at $11.99 for the 10-count tub, which is a super reasonable price.
Final Thoughts on PlusCBD: 8/10
At the end of the day, PlusCBD is a really good brand. There are lots of things to love about it, including the freely available lab reports and excellent product range. The prices aren’t bad, either.
However, we can’t give PlusCBD a ten out of ten because the website is lacking some information. Furthermore, it’s quite annoying that when you click on the products, it only tells you the lowest possible price and not the price you’re paying.
